In Relation To

I had the pleasure of gabbing about JBoss Modules a couple times at the Red Hat/JBoss booth at JavaOne this year, drawing frankly more interest than I thought I'd see. As a part of my talk (the video for which you can download here [well, soon anyway]), I chatted a bit about what the future may hold for Java in terms of modular runtime, modular development lifecycle, and distribution management. Some things seem certain - that the current paradigm won't hold, for example - and some are very uncertain - such as what, if anything, will replace Maven as the ubiquitous modular build/distribution system of the future.

We are continuing our quest for Hibernate Search 4.0. No breaking news for this release, we are quietly moving to the candidate release phase. As Sanne, said the big news is that there are no big news ;)

I'm happy to announce the release of Tattletale 1.2.0.Beta1 - the tool that will betray your project's naughty little secrets.

I've just submitted an early draft of the Contexts and Dependency Injection 1.1 (CDI, JSR-346) to the JCP. We (the CDI community) have completed around a third of the features we want to see in CDI 1.1, so wanted to post an early draft to get some wider feedback. Whilst the JCP sort out the paperwork, you can read the draft on jboss.org :-)
