After Devoxx 09, I never stopped to look back for published feedback about the 3 hour JSF 2 university session (download slides) that Andy Schwartz (Oracle), Pete Muir and I presented there. I finally did, and to my pleasant surprise, the feedback was very positive.
I have been at a few conferences lately and the EE 6 wave is taking a bunch of people by surprise. Tsunami level 6. The last two examples are W-JAX and Devoxx.
A developer new to Java EE posted in the Weld forum asking for advice on getting started learning EE 6. I've decided to promote part of my response in the forum to the blog.
In case you're like me, and you missed this when it was first published, check out Andy Schwartz's summary of what's new in JSF2. (Andy's one of the good guys on the JSF EG.) It's fun to compare the final product to my wishlist from back in '07. Oh, what innocent, carefree days...
I've posted the CDI TCK 1.0.0 on seamframework.org. You can read the docs or download the TCK for your use.
Nick Belaevski is the RichFaces dev lead in Minsk and has officially joined the JSF 2.0 Expert Group (JSR-314) along with Alex Smirnov to represent RichFaces and Exadel. As many of you know Dan Allen and Pete Muir are also on the JSF 2.0 Expert Group representing Red Hat & JBoss. Together these 4 people along with the rest of the EG will continue to help advance JSF as a standard and a technology.
Dan Allen has been writing a series of articles covering ideas from Seam that made it into JSF2. The latest installment covers view parameters and creating bookmarkable links. Seam users should find this stuff extremely familiar.
