Help

The release candidate of JBoss Tools is now available at sourceforge for Linux, Windows and Mac.

Update 16.11: The update site is now in-sync with CR1 too, Use http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/development in Eclipse.

The major news in this release are Seam 2 and Mac OS X support plus a long list of bugfixes and enhancements. You can read more about the specific enhancements in the New and noteworthy pages.

Next step is GA

This release brings JBoss Tools very close to a final release, but to get there we are going to need help from the community to test out the release. If you haven't already done so, please try out JBoss Tools and if you find any issues bring them up in the forum or open issues in JIRA.

Demo

We have also started doing some small movies to show of the functionallity in JBoss Tools and Red Hat Developer Studio.

The following shows the steps to create a JBoss Seam project with JBoss Tools and how to run and edit the project.

Have fun!

And it works really well, even with Seam 2 (and it has been for a while in the nightly builds). Well done!

Screencast of hotdeployment of EJB Seam components or it didnt happen

;) ;)

No just kidding, looks very promising. Would like to get my hands on that thing on my Leopard MBP. It sure would look even sexier on it then with this Vista style LnF.

Hi,

Sorry for a newbie question, but I'm trying to move from IDEA to eclipse due to extensive eclipse support from JBoss people.

I've downloaded Eclipse classic 3.3.1.1 and JBossTools-2.0.0.CR1, extracted the last into the first, but when I run eclipse (eclipse -clean tried as well) I see no functionality shown above, particularly no seam perspective among available ones. The opened project was imported from seam-gened previously. Interestingly, in Help::Manage Configuration I see JBoss Tools 2.0.0.CR1 installed.

Is there something I forgot to install or simply switch on? Looks like my migration to eclipse going to be a tough one :)

Thanks,

I noticed that the first dialog mentioned 1.2 runtime. I am assuming that that is the same as 2.0?

ibalashov: run eclipse with -debug and see what the error log says - but lets continue the follow up on this in the forums instead of here in the comments ;)

dan: yes, it's a combobox with more than one choice ;)

I don't know weather I found a bug? I use WTP 2.0.1 and JBoss Tools 2.0 CR1.But,after running some times,JBoss Tools will exit aotomatically,I use windows version.

chsh.wang, this is not the place for reporting or discussing bugs; use the forums or jira to do that (links are in the blog entry)

When you report it then let us know what running some times mean - do you mean running for a long time or after starting/stopping eclipse a few times

I will register an account later.

The problem is when I executed some operations, for example, using Rename refactor,JBoss Tools will exit aotomatically, not regular,I don't know why?
