Help

Nick Belaevski is the RichFaces dev lead in Minsk and has officially joined the JSF 2.0 Expert Group (JSR-314) along with Alex Smirnov to represent RichFaces and Exadel. As many of you know Dan Allen and Pete Muir are also on the JSF 2.0 Expert Group representing Red Hat & JBoss. Together these 4 people along with the rest of the EG will continue to help advance JSF as a standard and a technology.

Anyone who has worked with RichFaces at all is likely familiar with Nick (usually known as nbelaevski), either in the forums, Jira, or SVN. He has been an invaluable member of the RichFaces project for years, and brings a great level of insight into the EG.

Again, congratulations Nick!!

Congrats!

Question: Did it take 4ever ??? Currently we (Apache MyFaces) are *trying* to add another guy, but heck! that seems to be impossible. I sent out a ton of mails to the leads of that JSR, No mail in respond to mine. I wonder why ? It is really frustrating, trust me!
This is almost rediculous as the funny "open" mailing list. Ask Dan, he knows what I mean...

I think all the guys at Sun are quite busy preparing for EE6 right now, so there are some delays. I suggest giving the spec leads a nudge by email ;-)

Hi Matthias, Nick replaced Sergey Smirnov on the EG as one of the representative for Exadel. I believe that is why it happened so quickly. The spot was already there and reserved for someone from Exadel and Nick was the perfect choice to swap in.

As for the rest of the process and the open mailing list I tend to agree. It is really crappy if you never even received response.
