Sanne is the technical lead of the Hibernate team at Red Hat, where he is an Architect in the engineering department. He works across all Hibernate projects and Quarkus, helping define team priorities; works on performance and benchmarks, tries to mediate the needs of the OSS community and the business requirements which fund the project, while balancing innovation with the requirements of established users. He also likes to contribute to many other OSS projects, such as Infinispan, Wildfly, Lucene, Elasticsearch, GraalVM and OpenJDK - and many others, depending on the needs of our community and our projects. He lived in Holland, Italy, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Portugal; currently resides in the UK; loves OSS and socializing with other developers to improve all and any OSS project.

While Hibernate ORM applies some more polish before releasing the final version, so did the Hibernate Search team.
Hibernate Search version 5.4.0.CR2 is now available!
It was built and tested with Hibernate ORM 5.0.0.CR3, again we’re just waiting for that to be final but decided
to release another Candidate Release as some fixes and improvements were recently applied.
The Hibernate Search project roadmap was quite outdated, so after some team chats on IRC and our developer’s mailing list I’ve summarized our plans on the project website.
Hibernate Search version 5.4.0.CR1 is now available! It was built and tested with Hibernate ORM 5.0.0.CR2,
essentially it’s all ready for ORM 5 and we’ll just be waiting for this to be marked Final.

For those of you using Hibernate ORM version 5.0.0.CR1, you can now use the freshly released Hibernate Search 5.4 version 5.4.0.Alpha1.
Tonight we released Hibernate Search version 5.3.0.CR1 (candidate release).
The latest stable release of Hibernate Search, version 5.2.0.Final, is now available in Maven mirrors and as traditional downloads from Sourceforge.
Last night we released Hibernate Search 5.2.0.Beta1, and as many users requested we worked on Multi-Tenancy support.
We released Hibernate Search 5.1.1.Final, a micro update for version 5.1: our latest best release ever which we described early this month.

Now that feedback is coming about our great 5.0 release, it's time to publish quite a maintenance version as we have a long list of improvements already! So today we release Hibernate Search 5.1.0.Final.
