Help

I just completed migration of the data from the old Hibernate weblog to the new site. This is actually the first real entry using the new software. Hurray!

It is great to see developers eating their own dog food. I cannot tell you how much it bothers me to see people spending hours upon hours developing great Java software and frameworks, and then throwing up Wordpress to blog about it.

Of course, I am one to speak. I still have Moveable Type running. I plan to perform a similar migration.

The only problem I notice is that while typing a comment, it pops up a message window (which I accidentally killed, so I don't know what it says) and then takes me back to the entry list. I have to use the back button to continue editing. Also, that animation in the right hand corner makes me crazy.

Other than that, Hooray!

Yep, there are plenty of little bugs left that need to be ironed out. Luckily these are mostly UI issues with some Javascript that doesn't work in whatever browser. Feels like 1999 all over again...

This is a really good thing to have a blogging system developped with JBoss Seam ! I really love it, and I'd love to see a lot more projects (blogs, forums, trackers, ...) developped with this framework.

BTW, concerning this blog, font style is nearly unreadable on my Windows system (MAC fonts ?).

Anyway, good job !

I've checked the fonts again on a fresh install of Windows XP and Windows Vista with the installed IEs and Firefox. Yes, italics doesn't look good but it is readable. I've removed the italics and it looks OK now (depending if you have ClearType on or not).

If you have a screenshot and more detailed information about your setup that allows me to reproduce it, send me an e-mail please.

I'm assuming that the software used here is based on one of the examples from the Seam distribution, but it appears that it has gone through drastic enhancements (planet-like features). Are you guys releasing the customized version?

I really want to switch my blog to new software and I find it completely hypocritical to install WordPress while writing about and advocating Seam. I am also hesittant to use Roller for similar reasons. What are we saying if we only make our guests eat the food? Clearly, you guys have backed it up.

Actually the code is all in Seam CVS, in the /examples/wiki dirctory. What is not in there is the skin for in.relation.to (but it's easy to customize a new skin or use the default).

I'd advise not to take it as it is right now because there is a bug with a particularly important page parameter that we need to fix. I'll post a new entry or a comment here when it is done.
